RaceTrac’s 2016 Sodapalooza Features VIP Week Discount
Retailer rolls out social media selfie contest to accompany annual fountain promotion
ATLANTA -- Convenience-store retailer RaceTrac will launch its annual Sodapalooza fountain promotion officially on May 4, to run through July 31. For a limited time, the chain’s “TracFanatics” can purchase a Sodapalooza cup for $11.99 at any RaceTrac location and “FreeFill” it this summer.
As an added bonus, each Sodapalooza cup also includes between $20 and $100 in exclusive coupons, depending on location, for food and fun experiences.
Customers who become RaceTrac Rewards members by downloading the free app on any IOS or Android phone can also purchase a cup during VIP Week (April 27 to May 3.) RaceTrac Rewards members can also download a coupon for $2 off a Sodapalooza cup purchase.
"Sodapalooza is a summer tradition, and we're excited to offer our guests free refills through July 31 to help them beat the heat," said Robby Posener, RaceTrac's vice president of marketing, merchandising, design and construction.
This year, RaceTrac has added a new level to the Sodapalooza deal by rewarding customers who snap a selfie with their cup in a unique location, with fun props, for the #SodapaloozaSelfie contest. They must share the selfie on either Instagram or Twitter, posting the image with the hashtags #SodapaloozaSelfie and #contest from May 4 to June 5.
A panel of RaceTrac Sodapalooza gurus will review and judge the selfies based on creativity, reference to the subject--the Sodapalooza cup--and overall quality of the entry.
One grand prize winner and up to three friends will win a summer road trip. Four runners up will each win a $200 RaceTrac gift card. The company will announce the winners the week of June 20.
